Evolution Fitness is accepting items on behalf of Hope Center to comfort Northwest Indiana cancer patients. Evolution Fitness gyms in Cedar Lake, Lowell and Winfield are collecting items for Hope Center Hope Totes during the month of May. Donations of new soft hats, adult coloring books, Crayola crayons (8 or 12 count), pens, 5 x 7 journals, travel games and decks of cards will be accepted at each location. All items must be new.
Hope Center volunteers present Hope Totes filled with comfort items to those facing cancer. The totes are available upon request from the volunteer-run group based in Lowell. Hope Totes are used by cancer patients during long infusion treatments or hospital stays.
New fleece tied hand-made blankets are also accepted. Each blanket requires two pieces of two yards of fleece.
“Cancer is a disease that touches so many in our community,” said owner, Liza Rainey-Bianchi. “We are delighted to work with Hope Center to support those in our community facing cancer.”
