Evolution Fitness welcomes new instructor, Courtney Olavarria

Courtney Olavarria has joined Evolution Fitness as an instructor.  She has been a nurse for the past ten years.  She became a certified instructor three years ago to combine her nursing knowledge with her love of exercise. “I believe fitness can prevent and improve disease processes,” said Olavarria.  “Nursing is my passion, but without fitness, you will never have good health.”

All class instructors and personal trainers at Evolution Fitness are certified.  Olavarria is certified in Pilates, barre, spin, group exercise and as a health coach.

Olavarria will be teaching Barre Burn on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. at Evolution Fitness in Winfield.  Barre Burn is a combination of Pilates, yoga, ballet and strength training. The bar is used as a prop to maintain balance during isometric exercises. The class includes reps with light weights, resistance bands and mat work. Barre exercises, fused with bursts of cardio exercises, raise the heart rate while toning the entire body.

In her free time, Olavarria enjoys running, health and spending time with her family.  “I love incorporating fitness into my family life.  I have trained my nine year old to run six 5K’s,” she said.  She resides in Crown Point with her husband and two sons.

Courtney Olavarria is welcomed by Evolution Fitness Manager, Tami Vogt, as the newest instructor at the Winfield gym.
