It’s not too late to register for the Royal Family Kids Fall Frenzy 5k and Fun Run. Evolution Fitness is proud to support local foster children at the Royal Family Kids Fall Frenzy 5k and Fun Run at the Lake County Fairgrounds this Sunday, October 7 at 9 a.m. Participants can run, walk, push a stroller or pull a wagon.
Evolution Fitness instructor, Courtney Olavarria, is the chairperson of the event. “Courtney has worked so hard organizing this event to benefit an organization that sends foster children to camp,” said Evolution Fitness Manager, Melissa Wonder. “We are proud to support her efforts and Royal Family Kids.”
The timed 5k race will loop around the Lake County Fairgrounds. Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place runners.
Children will receive a pumpkin at the finish line of their run. There will be a costume contest for children. The winner of the most creative costume contest will win a bowling party for five at The Super Bowl in Crown Point.
A photo booth and give-a-ways will be offered at the family-friendly event.
Royal Family Kids sends foster kids to camp every year. The free summer camp is designed for foster children, ages 7-11, who have been abused, abandoned and neglected. Many foster children are not able to attend “regular” summer camps because of unique emotional and physical requirements. The special needs of these children are met at Royal Family Kids’ Camp.
All of the children attending the camp come from the local Foster Care System.
